As NATO’s second-largest military force, Türkiye plays a crucial role in defending NATO’s eastern flank by protecting the Bosphorus Strait between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean. It is one of the most significant contributors to NATO missions and antiterrorism operations, while also hosting the alliance’s headquarters for land forces. Türkiye attaches the utmost importance to NATO’s role in maintaining security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area and upholding common values of the alliance.
Thanks to its geographical position, that even contains the geometric center point of all land surfaces on Earth, Türkiye offers fast and convenient transport to more than 150 destinations around the world within a flight time of three hours.
