Özcan Tahincioğlu | MEMBER

Born in 1969 in Istanbul, where he attended Istanbul Özel Amerikan Robert Lisesi (Robert College), he went on to graduate from Babson College in the United States with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics and began his career at Kent Gıda Maddeleri Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, a leading sugar confectionery company in Turkey.

Mr. Tahincioğlu was promoted to the position of Deputy Managing Director and Board Member of Kent Gıda after Cadbury Schweppes Overseas Ltd. acquired the majority stake in the company in 2002. He went on to serve as the Chairman of the Board between 2004 and 2013.

Mr. Tahincioğlu also started focusing on various new areas including energy, agriculture and finance in his role as the CEO and Chairman of Tahincioğlu Holding AŞ, the parent company. However his main concentration was on real estate development and the construction sector, where Tahincioğlu Holding had been operating through its subsidiaries since 1965. As the Chairman of the Board of both Tahincioğlu Gayrimenkul İnşaat ve Turizm AŞ and Nida İnşaat ve Turizm AŞ, the two major companies of the Holding in the real estate sector, he presided over many projects including numerous hotels, shopping centers, commercial and residential buildings.

Mr. Tahincioglu is also a Founding Board Member of Endeavor Turkey, where he served as the Chairman for two consecutive terms during the period between 2009-13. Endeavor Turkey is part of an international non-profit network supporting high impact entrepreneurs and championing the growth of healthy entrepreneurship ecosystems in emerging markets as a critical tool for economic development. During his Chairmanship, Mr. Tahincioglu pioneered four major programs that catalyzed a nationwide agenda to promote entrepreneurship in Turkey. He continues to serve as an active Endeavor Board Member.

His commitment to entrepreneurship includes, among other things, being an active investor in various information technology funds. Mr. Tahincioglu is currently the Founding Chairman of Revo Capital Fund I BV, a venture capital fund he started with Cenk Bayrakdar.

Mr. Tahincioğlu has also been an active volunteer in a wide range of non-governmental organizations, including the Young Businessmen Association (GYİAD), where he served as a member of the Board of Directors between 1996 and 1998, and the High Advisory Board of Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV), where he maintained membership from 2007 to 2012. Since 2009, he has served as a member of the Higher Council of Young Entrepreneurs (GGK) within the framework of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB). He has been an active member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Real Estate Investment Companies (GYODER) since 2012. He has also served two terms on the Executive Board of the Turkish-British Business Council (TİİK), operating under the auspices of Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK). In 2013, Mr. Tahincioğlu joined the Board of Directors of the Mardin Foundation for Education and Solidarity (MAREV). Mr. Tahincioğlu’s additional memberships include associations and foundations such as the Turkish Industry and Businessmen Association (TUSİAD), the Turkish-American Business Association (TABA), the International Investors Association (YASED), the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and Urban Land Institute (ULI). He is also on the Advisory Board of the Council of Shopping Centers (AYD) and the Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation.

Mr. Tahincioğlu is married and a father of two.
