SelectUSA Roadshow Comes to Türkiye for the First Time: A New Era for Investment and Trade

Launched in 2011 by the U.S. federal government to promote foreign direct investment, the SelectUSA program is holding a roadshow in Türkiye for the first time. The first of three events in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir took place in collaboration with DEİK/Türkiye-U.S. Business Council (TAİK)  and the U.S. Commercial Service in Istanbul on January 28, 2025.

During the seminar, Turkish companies were introduced to investment opportunities in Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, and Virginia. Participants received insights on incentives, tax advantages, and investment processes, as well as presentations on legal, financial, visa, and accounting matters.

Özyeğin: “The 40th American-Turkish Conference (ATC) and the SelectUSA Investment Summit Will Be Held Back-to-Back in May”

TAİK Chairman Murat Özyeğin expressed his pleasure in hosting the SelectUSA event in Türkiye for the first time. “We are delighted to welcome the SelectUSA team to their inaugural event in Türkiye. This seminar provides a unique platform for Turkish companies to explore investment opportunities in the U.S. It also marks a significant step toward achieving the targeted $100 billion trade volume between our two countries,” Özyeğin said.

Highlighting the opportunities in South Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland, Michigan, and Georgia for Turkish investors, Özyeğin emphasized the importance of direct discussions on incentives, tax advantages, and business environments.

Özyeğin also noted that the world’s largest foreign direct investment event, the SelectUSA Investment Summit, will coincide with the 40th American-Turkish Conference (ATC) in Maryland this year. He stated that this scheduling alignment will create a strong synergy for fostering economic relations. “We would like to invite the companies attending this seminar to the 40th ATC, further deepening this dialogue,” Özyeğin added.

U.S. Consul General in Istanbul, Julie A. Eadeh, underscored the U.S. government’s commitment to attracting foreign investment through initiatives like SelectUSA. “By supporting businesses seeking opportunities in the U.S. market, we are dedicated to bringing foreign investment into the U.S. Both the U.S. and Türkiye have strong entrepreneurial ecosystems and recognize that innovation is the driving force behind successful businesses. In this regard, there are numerous ways in which our two countries can work together to promote innovation and enhance cooperation opportunities,” she stated.
