Erman Kalkandelen leads private equity investments in Turkey and surrounding countries for Franklin Templeton. The Franklin Templeton Turkey office manages over $1bn private equity assets in the country and one of the leading private equity managers in the region. Mr. Kalkandelen has led deals such as Defacto, Sok, Propak, and Gozde in the last decade. He is currently serving as a board member in leading companies in Turkey such as Sok, Hepsiburada, Netlog, and Fibabanka. He is experienced in consumer, technology, retail, and industrial company investing.
Erman Kalkandelen joined Franklin Templeton in 2006 as a public equity investment analyst, responsible for generating investment ideas in Turkey, MENA, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Mr. Kalkandelen co-managed the multi-billion and award-winning Templeton Global Emerging Market Small Cap Strategy until 2017.
Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2006, Mr. Kalkandelen was a part-time analyst in the Global Banking Division at Deutsche Bank, Istanbul.
Mr. Kalkandelen holds an M.B.A., with distinction, from the Sabanci University in Istanbul and a B.S., magna cum laude, in labor economics from Political Sciences Faculty, Ankara University. He speaks English and Turkish.
