Hande Çilingir graduated from the London School of Economics, Department of Economics & Management, and completed the International Chinese and Culture Master's Program at Shanghai University. After her education and corporate career in the UK and China, Hande Çilingir exited her first startup and founded Insider with 5 co-founders in 2012.
In 2014, Hande Çilingir was selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur and in 2016, she was awarded the "Successful Woman Entrepreneur of the Year" award by Microsoft. Hande Çilingir was named "Woman Entrepreneur of the Year" by Garanti Bank, KAGİDER, and Ekonomist Magazine in 2017 and one of the top three female CEOs outside the US by Crunchbase in early 2018. In 2020, she became one of the three most successful entrepreneurs globally as the winner of the Lindas Award presented annually by the Endeavor Association. She was named the Most Successful SaaS CEO in Europe for 2020 by The Software Report, while also being named one of the 50 Most Successful Female Software Industry CEOs Globally for 2020.
