Dr. Ahmet Bolat, born 1959 in Konya, has been Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines since 28 January 2022. He started his career in Turkish Airlines in the year 2005 and held different senior positions as Senior Vice President, Investment Management till 2012. From 2012 to 2022, Dr. Bolat was responsible for Fleet Planning, Investment Management, International Relations & Alliances and Innovation as the Chief (Investment and Technology) Officer.
During his 17 year tenure at Turkish Airlines, he has successfully managed strategic growth plan of Turkish Airlines and led the team for procuring around 550 aircraft to Turkish Airlines fleet. In this respect, Dr. Ahmet Bolat played an essential role in the growth strategy & fleet investment planning of Turkish Airlines. He has also run Government Affairs issues & commercial agreements with airline partners, ensuring partnership & network development with enhanced bilateral relations. He has been the leading executive for the feasibility study of Alliance election process for Turkish Airlines.
Dr. Ahmet Bolat graduated from Istanbul Tecnical University in 1981 as an Industrial Engineer. In 1984, he graduated from M.Sc. Operations Research program at Stanford Universtiey and in 1988, he obtained his Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
He was a Board Member of Sun Express Airlines and currently the Board Member of Turkish Cabin Interior Inc. and Deputy Chairman of Turkish Aerospace Industry.
Dr.Bolat is married, and father of five children, and three grand children.
