Burak Orhun began his professional career as a Financial Analyst at Mercedes-Benz Türk A.Ş. He later continued his career in the United States, where he held various executive positions at leading organizations. He served as Finance Manager at Thomson Corporation/Reuters, Director of Portfolio Management and Director of Corporate Development at Capital One Financial, and CFO at CadenceQuest, Inc.
In 2009, Orhun returned to Türkiye and joined the OYAK Group. Until 2018, he served as General Manager of OYAK Venture Advisory A.Ş., leading the group’s mergers and acquisitions as well as new investment projects. During this period, he also held executive roles and served as a board member and chairman of the board in the group’s domestic and international chemical and energy companies.
In 2019, Orhun joined Sabancı Group as Head of Strategy and Business Development at Sabancı Holding. Between May 2021 and April 2024, he served as President of the Building Materials Group at Sabancı Holding. In April 2024, he was appointed President of the Materials Technologies Group and served as Chairman of the Board at Kordsa, Brisa, Akçansa, Çimsa, Çimsa Building Solutions BV, and Afyon Çimento.
Following an organizational restructuring at Sabancı Holding, he was appointed President of Strategic Investments in January 2026. In addition, he continues to serve as Chairman of the Board at Kordsa and Brisa, and as a Board Member at Akçansa, Çimsa, and Afyon Çimento.
Burak Orhun holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Boğaziçi University. He furthered his academic background with a master’s degree in Finance from George Washington University and an MBA from the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania.
